What Does a Senior PNL Analyst Do?
As a Senior PNL Analyst at Musket Corp, part of Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, you will be responsible for accurately calculating and reporting market risks and profitability related to energy trading portfolios. Working from Calgary, you will provide critical insights by balancing independent analysis with collaboration across teams, ensuring data integrity and financial accuracy.
Your work directly impacts decision-making within the trading environment by maintaining exposure, mark-to-market valuations, and profit/loss reporting using specialized systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate exposure, mark-to-market, and profitability reporting for assigned portfolios
- Enter transactions timely and accurately into the Right Angle (RA) system
- Understand RA scheduling, profit/loss reporting, transaction rebooking, and accounting close processes
- Resolve pricing and volume discrepancies in coordination with contract administration, accounting, inventory control, and third parties
- Act as the subject matter expert for RA and exposure/PNL reporting within the middle office team
- Assist with year-end audits, including documentation review and validation
- Provide backup support to other Risk Team members as needed
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of North American energy markets and risk management methods
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA, along with other MS Office applications
- Experience working directly with traders in a front-office trading environment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and data problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
